McDonald's Pedals Poisonous Products – 'Shrek' Glasses Recall

McDonald's Shrek Glasses

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the designs on these glasses, 12 million of which were sold for $2 since the beginning of May, contain cadmium, which can cause health risks including kidney damage. The glasses were manufactured for McDonald’s by ARC International, of Millville, N.J.

I’d like to think that McDonald’s would do a better job testing their products before promoting and selling 12 million of these glasses to our kids. We bought the whole set for our daughter thinking they’d make cute milk glasses. Instead of getting her daily does of calcium, she’d be risking cadmium poisoning instead.

I’m hoping we haven’t used our glasses yet. If you bought any return them now for a complete refund. I don’ t know about you, but I’m sure not finding anything “happy” about “Happy Meals”. If the poor nutrition of McDonald’s most popular products isn’t enough reason to skip the Golden Arches, perhaps this is?

  1. i heard about the glasses. dump yours . thanks for putting this on your blog for bloggers.

    1. You’re welcome, Rose. They seemed like nicely made glasses, and we figured our baby girl would enjoy them as milk or juice glasses when she was older. Who knew McDonald’s was selling something dangerous!
