Dear Google: Stop Posting Pictures of Witches on my Blog

What exactly was it about my recent posts on Yo Gabba Gabba, or tips about feeling better when you have a cold, or cute photos of my 3 year old daughter that lead Google AdSense to put an ad with a psychic wearing a wiccan pentacle on my blog?

Google adsense posted this photo of a witch on my page

I decided to put a few ads on my blog to help pay for the hosting fees or maybe a Starbucks venti latte ? It hasn’t yet, but one lives in hope. 😉 According to Google, they scan your content and post appropriate ads. I expected Winnie the Pooh products?

They do let you block certain categories of ads (such as gambling sites), but I don’t recall there being a “please don’t post photos of witches on my page” check box? Oh well, if you see an ad on my page that offends you… don’t click on it.

Now that I’m done with my rant about this Google Adsense targeted advertizing fail… What was the best Christmas present you or someone else in your house got this year? I love comments! 🙂

    1. I understand, D. It’s probably better to host prepaid ads from companies you know and trust. I did go in and narrow acceptable categories further.
