Do Not Buy This Watch if You Ever Hope to Have Sex

I should start by saying this is not a sponsored post; though that disclaimer is probably unnecessary once you read this. This product review is just an sample of reviews people leave about products on sites like Amazon.com. And yes, it was written by me. How do you feel about online reviews? I personally find them quite helpful, though I suppose one can’t always know if all of them are trustworthy?

Have you finished all of your Christmas shopping yet? Me, not so much. I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping on Amazon.com during lunch and ran across this product review I wrote a while back. Reading what I’d written made me smile, and it gave me an idea for a post. Wonder how much value my review below would provide someone considering this watch. What do you think?

Do you ever review products you’ve purchased? Reading about other shoppers’ experiences has helped me a lot, especially on sites that confirm the reviewer actually bought the product from them. So I certainly encourage everyone to share their advice if they have any. What about you? Did you do much shopping online this year? Do the reviews people leave help you? Here’s that review I wrote a while back:

My review of the Casio G-Shock Watch - NOT Sponsored

I should point out right up front that there is nothing particularly sexy about this watch. I really can’t recommend it for wear on a first date. That said, it may help you weed out girls you probably shouldn’t be dating anyway? But I digress. Every time I strap this old friend on, it brings back memories of distant lands (and deep sea dives) it’s seen me safely to and back again, and I smile. The Casio G-Shock does what it says it does, and keeps on doing it… nothing more, nothing less.

Douglas Adams is rolling over in his grave as I type this (see the first page of his Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy to understand why) but I LOVE this digital watch! It has literally traveled around the world many times, often well more than 100 feet below the ocean’s surface, and keeps on ticking. I was sure all the SCUBA trips and salt water would eventually kill it, but nope, it keeps on ticking. Some of my friends wish they could say that about their expensive dive watches.

As hard as I’ve indirectly tried to kill this bad boy, I can’t. I’ve considered buying a shiny new one here on Amazon, but why? The caveats I made above about wearing this watch on a first date aside, I HIGHLY recommend this watch.Save

  1. Well now…I will certainly know if I run across any of your reviews on Amazon, Michael!

Are you sure that’s not a short story? Of course it is! All the best writing tells a story – even Amazon reviews!

I must tell my oldest that you are a fan of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Are you also a fan of The Big Bang Theory? That’s our household fav!

Happy Holidays to you, Shannon, and your littlest sweet girl!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes, we watch The Big Bang Theory. Just the other night I pointed out to our 6-year-old daughter that Mayim Bialik who plays Amy Farrah Fowler (scientist and girlfriend to Sheldon Cooper) is in real-life a neuroscientist in addition to acting. Always looking for examples of successful girls/women in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) to point out to her. Sending you and yours wishes for a very safe and happy holiday season!

    2. You’ve hit the ball out the park!

      1. Really? I’d have been happy with a base hit. 😉
