That Awkward Moment when Dora the Explorer Stares at You

Another Nearly Wordless Wednesday

Visit NickJr.com and play Dora the Explorer games!Don’t know about you, but I hate it when Dora the Explorer yells questions at me! Not sure what’s more awkward, answering Dora, or sitting in silence while she stares at you?

.

[important]Another post you may enjoy:
I Hate Dora the Explorer ;)[/important]

.

Note: This is NOT a sponsored post, though if Dora would like to send me cash in small, unmarked bills or alternatively a Starbucks gift card, I promise to say nicer things about her in the future. Maybe.

  1. I hated being yelled at by Dora and thus would change the channel at every opportunity.

    1. I hear you, Rita. I hate it when she shouts at the screen and then stares into the dark abyss of my soul. Maybe that’s just me? Anyway, she’s like crack for Toddlers! I can’t explain it.

  2. Oh, I remember those days when my kids were little! We would answer wrong on purpose and Dora would eventually say, “Very Good!” and it would crack us up!

    1. LOL, Karen! I’m def doing that the next time it’s on. 🙂

  3. My younger son just got addicted to this! I think it’s fine, unfortunately I don’t have time to watch, and I think my little boy won’t let me to, anyway. 🙂

    1. While I do suggest close monitoring of what your son watches, NickJr is one of the more benign cable channels for preschoolers… and honestly, missing Dora is nothing to be sad about. 😉

  4. I have never played Dora the Explorer! It really looks interesting.. Going to try it once, i hope it is not addictive, as it get addicted to games pretty easy!

    1. You mean play a Dora game? I’m certain NickJr has some you can play online for free on their website, but why put yourself through it? 😉

  5. Oh my gosh, you are HILARIOUS!!! I found your blog by clicking your link about drowning (thanks for sharing that- so scary! I have 3 kids in that age group…). I’m having so much fun clicking around your site.

    1. Thank you, Julie. I really appreciate the kind words. Yes, I do hope people will read and share the post about the leading cause of accidental death in young kids and how they can prevent it. (link below)

  6. I wonder who would stay quiet the longest?

Uh, yeah, we win. Hands down. That chick cannot STOP TALKING.

(Resentment much? I know. My kid barely watches her anymore and yet I can’t help the tension that streams into my mind when I see her. Or hear her. Ah. Dora.)

    1. She’s like nails on the chalkboard, right, Andrea. Our daughter has moved on to mostly less irritating fare. No Barney, Dora or Yo Gabba Gabba these days.

    1. OMG… don’t even talk about the teen years yet. I’m still living in blissful ignorance.

  7. My son likes this show…but I am completely freaked out if I am taking a nap and wake up to her staring at me. What does she want from me??!?!?! And stop yelling at me!

    1. Thanks, John. You nearly made me spit out my coffee. 🙂

I have to thank you for the efforts you’ve put in writing this blog. I’m hoping
to see the same high-grade blog posts from you later on as well.
In fact, your creative writing abilities has encouraged
me to get my own, personal blog now 😉

    1. I’m nothing if not high-grade. 😉 Thanks. Good luck with that blog.
