I Just Wanted to Say Thank You!

Hello everyone. Most of you already know, but for any who had not heard, our 34 month old daughter has been ill. She is home and recovering well now, though still has a way to go.

To the hundreds of you who sent us your prayers, positive thoughts and support… THANK YOU. It means so much to us. As bad as this was, we know many others suffer much worse.

Our 2 Year Old Spraying Water From a HoseI’ve been off work, but went back today. I’ve clearly not been responding to your email and comments as I normally would. I hope to catch up with you all sometime next week.

And did I say, “thank you?” It bears repeating. Your support has meant a lot.

  1. I am so glad to hear she is doing better and as always, will definitely keep her in my prayers. She still has a ways to go, but hopefully it is all uphill from here. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all…today & always my dear friend. (((HUGS)))

    1. Thank you so much, Mitzi. You have always shown us so much thoughtfulness. It means a great deal. I hope you and D have a great weekend.

  2. I’m so thrilled for you and your family that your daughter is home and recovering. I will keep her in my prayers that she continues to get healthier every day! Love to all of you!

    1. I’m not one to wear my heart on my sleeve or ask for help, but everyone’s prayers and support have meant so much to us. Thank you, Erin. Our love to you and yours.

    1. Mona, thank you so much. It’s Saturday now and our little girl seems to have turned the corner and is quite a bit better today. 🙂 Thank you so much for your continued thoughts and prayers.

  4. Omg I knew there had to be going on.. I didn’t see you on tweeter much.. I didn’t know the little one was sick.. I’m so happy to hear she is better…
I haven’t been to work all this week either.. my munchkin AND hubby had the flu.. but they are doing much better as well.. I hope next gets back to normal.

what was wrong with your little one??

    1. Oh no, Alex. Both your little one and the hubby have the flu at your house? How are they doing this weekend? Hope they feel much better soon… so mommy can get some rest. And hope you don’t get it, too. As for our little one, she had a very painful and potentially life threatening infection. She’s much better finally… and has been a super brave, positive little trooper throughout the week-long ordeal. 🙂

  5. I didn’t know she had been ill! Mother was visiting this week, so blog reading time was at minimal. Glad to hear that she is home, and on the mend. Will keep your family in our prayers! God Bless

    1. Oh, there was no reason for you to know. I posted a prayer request one time on Twitter (something I’ve never done before) and everyone was so lovely and supportive with positive thoughts, prayers, vibes or whatever they wanted to send. She’s finally doing better, so I guess they worked? Thank you so much!

  6. I was not aware of the difficult time you were going through. I want to send big hugs to you and your family.

    1. Well, I know that hugs from you are extra special, Melinda. Anyone who’s not read your blog and see’s this comment should head of there now and find out what I mean. Thank you so much, Melinda!

I didn’t know either, but I will be praying for her recovery.

    1. Thank you so much, D. As I said to someone else, except for a single prayer request by me on Twitter (and one on Facebook by my wife) we really didn’t say much, so I’d not have expected you to know. Anyway, she is doing quite a bit better today, so I’m cautiously very optimistic. 🙂

  7. Oh I didn’t know, I’m so sorry I’ve been hiding in my cave! I’m so glad to hear she is home and getting better, I will be sure to pray for further recovery!
Hang in there, and get plenty of rest. All the best to you all!

    1. Thank you so much, Kelley. I totally understand about hiding in one’s cave (or under a rock in my case). 😉 She is doing much better finally. Hopefully she’ll be fully recovered in the next week or two. Thanks again!

  8. I am so glad that she’s feeling so much better!! Poor little punkin! I have been thinking of you and praying for you and will continue to do so. Love to you and your whole family.

    1. Hi, Laura. Thank you very much. Yes, she’s a little trooper and far more brave than I’d have been. A totally adorable little sweetie. We very much appreciate the prayers. Thank you, again.

  9. Oh my goodness, with all the busyness here I missed this. I’m so glad she is recovering! You all are in my thoughts and prayers!

    1. We didn’t exactly advertise it, but I did want to take a moment to say thanks to everyone who had been so kind. So, thank you, Ivy. She’s doing great and hopefully will be fully healed in the next 10 days or so, but prayers are very welcome and appreciated. I hope you are doing great?

      1. So glad to hear! Kids being sick, injured or otherwise unhealthy or unhappy is harder on us as parents than the kids, I think. Hope you’re holding up well.

Life here is going well. We’re healing after the loss of our family pet, welcoming new beginnings with a truly amazing puppy. I think the busyness of summer and housebreaking a puppy is good for my son and I. We both felt the loss the hardest.

        1. I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but the captcha kept stopping me. Here’s what it said:

Lovely blog… though understandably sad. I still tear up thinking of pets I’ve lost as much as 15 years ago. I’m glad you got a new puppy. It’s not a replacement, of course, but life goes on. Sending hugs.

  10. I hope she’s okay. I know how hard it can be. Best wishes.

    1. Thanks, Kate. Nothing worse than a sick child. It just breaks your heart when they look at you with their scared eyes and say, “Daddy fix it.” You feel so powerless. Fortunately we have good medical care and she’s recovering well, now.

  11. Michael I’m sorry to hear this, I did not know she was sick and missed your prayer request.

I am so glad she is on the mend now and back home. I hope you all are able to get some rest, I am sure this was terribly worrisome for all of you.

    Take care!

    1. No worries, Annie. Neither my wife or I said much about it. Just a brief prayer request back when we were especially scared. She’s not fully well, but she’s doing great and I’m sure will recover fully in time. Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, there is nothing worse for a parent than a sick child. It could have been a lot worse, though. Say a general prayer if you like for all those parents out there whose kids really need our prayers much worse than we did. I will, too.

  12. Just now reading this. I will have her and your family in my prayers for a full recovery!

    1. I’m responding rather late to this comment. Sorry. It does however let me give you the GOOD NEWS that our little girl is almost fully recovered and will likely have no lasting issues or health concerns. Thank you all again so much for your support. It meant so much. More than you’d think possible since we’ve not met some of you in person… yet.

  13. I am happy that she’s well now. Focus on the health of your children because health is wealth. Follow healthy tips that help the entire family to achieve wellness. I wish you all the best.
