Find, Follow & be Followed: #TwitterTuesday Link Up

[important]Note: This Twitter Follow is open until August 9th :)[/important]

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for great new blogs to read and fun folks to talk (tweet) with on Twitter. What I don’t want, though, is a bunch of Twitter spammers or others that don’t have similar interests and values.

I thought hosting a link-up on A Daddy Blog might be a good way of finding parents and other cool folks to follow on Twitter. If you like this idea, I’ll do it each Tuesday so be sure to leave me a comment and plan to stop by next Tuesday.

Following from @adaddyblog’s #TwitterTuesday IconInstructions: Click on “Add your link” button below, when prompted enter the URL of your Twitter account, e.g. twitter.com/adaddyblog, then your Twitter user name, e.g. @adaddyblog and lastly your email (required by inlinkz.com. I will never use or sell it).

Then just follow anyone else you like, and send them this tweet: Following from @adaddyblog’s #TwitterTuesday Link Up: http://bit.ly/TwitterTuesday. When you receive this tweet from others, simply follow them back and retweet (RT) it.

That’s it. Have fun! 🙂

Please leave me a comment and let me know if you like this idea and find it helpful. Also let me know if it’s working correctly and if you need any help or have any questions. This is my first time ever doing a link up. Thanks!

~Michael Schmid (aka: daddy)

[notice]p.s. If you’d like to retweet this I won’t mind. 😉

  1. Seems like a great idea!

    1. Thanks, Barbara! Getting started on Twitter can be bit daunting, and one of the things that makes Twitter fun is having great followers like you! So I hoped this might help others find, follow and be followed. 🙂

  2. Following everyone! What a good idea! I just started doing twitter about a month ago and I must admit, I still don’t really understand its uses!! But I am trying!! 🙂

    1. Yeah, I must admit I totally did not “get” Twitter at first. But it’s way more than “what did I eat for lunch today”. I’ve met many cool people, and I love that I can post a question, e.g “How did you get your kids to eat broccoli?” and get a dozen parents perspectives and advice. Plus, since you have a blog you’ll find it a great way to connect with existing and new readers. Thanks so much for dropping by. I’m following everyone, including you, too! 🙂

  3. Thank you so much for directions! lol. I just got my Twitter account and the last little Twitter hop I did I put the URL of my blog in… I didn’t even realize there was a URL for my Twitter….

    1. That worked perfectly. The forms often ask for “blog URLs” and in many cases that’s what blog-hops and link-ups mean for you to enter. I used the same type of tool here to help folks find others they might like to follow on Twitter. Officially your twitter profile is at http://twitter.com/#!/OneMommy1, but you can just type in http://twitter.com/OneMommy1 and that works. Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m following you on Twitter and on GFC on your blog. 🙂

  4. It took me three times, but I finally got my Twitter name in right. LOL … A little slowness going on over here today. This is a great idea. Thanks for the linkup.

    1. Hi, Petula.

I’m following you on Twitter now, so I guess third time was the charm. I’ll try to put better instructions if I do it again.

I saw your comment on Mom Loop. That’s a great community, you should definitely join. I’m so happy to meet you.

      Have a lovely night!

      ~Michael

  5. I’d love to follow as many dad-blogs as I can find (as my own finds its legs). I’ve tried a half-dozen times, I’m just not a twitter sort of guy.

    1. Love the name. I’m a self-described geek dad myself. LOL. Twitter grows on you. Follow some people you find interesting and just lurk for a bit if you want.

Over time you’ll find other folks of common interests and before you know it Twitter will take over your life… okay, just kidding about that last part. But it’s fun after you get used to it.

If I can help, let me know. Also, you mentioned looking for other dads who blog. Here’s a link to a few:

  6. I think this is a fantastic idea! Thanks for hosting!

    1. Okay, I just spent way too much time reading your blog. Love it. You need some work on that wink, though. I’m following you on GFC & Twitter. Love your photos. My wife is great at that, too. I should take more. Anyway, I’m very happy to meet you. Have a great night.

      1. I know. I will make it my life’s mission to improve my winking skills. In the meantime, if I give you a deranged look, don’t freak out, okay?

At least my virtual winking skills don’t suck… 😉

        Thanks so much for visiting!

Great idea!!! What’s up with all the spam lately?!? I’ll be sure to #twittertuesday next week 🙂

    1. Yeah, every so often I get a bunch of Twitter “eggs” following me. One would think they could at least be more creative. On my blog my spam filter is pretty zealous, so not many issues there. Thanks so much for joining in the fun. I’m following you back, of course, and just left a comment on your blog.

  7. Awesome idea!!!! Love it! Follow me people.
    @alexsworld10. I follow back 🙂

    1. If they are smart they will follow you. You’ve been a consistently wonderful online friend. Oh, and if you’d like to know how to have a picture displayed instead of these weird graphics on many of the blogs you visit, I’d be glad to tell you. It’s a secret.

  8. This is a great idea! Thanks so much for putting it together 🙂

    1. You are so welcome. Glad you liked it! I am and already was following you of course.

  9. Great idea! I’m following everyone now. I was already following most, but I found some new ones, too! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Deb. Great to see you anyway. I like the idea of introducing my friends to each other. Hope you have a super weekend!

  10. This is an excellent idea. Except that my lawn won’t get mowed tomorrow since I’ll be checking out a lot of Twitter folk and new blogs.

    Thanks.

    1. Thanks, Dean. I decided to sit it out this week, and will do it again next. Hope you got that lawn mowed.
