This video spoof from IKEA cracked me up. We’ve seen those slick minimalist ads from Apple for years (more coming soon with their new iPhone 6 & iWatch). IKEA captures them perfectly in this video spoof.
What does this have to do with “A Daddy Blog?” I’m going to use it as an educational tool for our daughter, illustrating that technology isn’t everything. 😉 Plus it made me laugh, and I wanted to share it.
Has your child ever tried to “swipe” the page in a book or resize a picture, and then looked puzzled when it didn’t change? Of course I’ve tied to “touch” things on my regular PC screen! Have you?
Enjoy this post? I wrote a post a while back called “Bookstores with Nooks, not Nooks” you might like. I simultaneously love high tech and adore retro “old fashioned” stuff. How about you?
I should note that this post is very much NOT sponsored by IKEA or anyone else. If they want to send me some Swedish Meatballs in a flat-pack, though, I won’t say no.

We stumbled over here coming from a different web address and thought I might as well check things out.
I like what I see so i am just following you.
Look forward to going over your web page yet again.
Progressive, High Tech ad to announce the antique art form.
Brilliant!

Right? I’ve conditioned our little girl to see all ads and commercials as someone trying to sell us something we probably don’t want or need. That said, this one is seriously funny the way they spoof Apple’s smug minimalist advertising style. 😉
