I Want to Say… Thanks.

“We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.”
— Orson Welles

Forgive me getting all sappy here, but hey, it’s the holidays so when better to be a bit sappy? Illusion or not, I just want to say, thank you. Because of you my tiny little family of three is much larger, richer… we are not alone.

Alone at Christmas

Neither are you alone. You’re saying to yourself, “he doesn’t mean me does he?” Yes, I do mean you. No, not everyone in my Twitter and Facebook friends lists. I think, I hope, you know who you are… my dear friends old and new.

You are part of a core group of very eclectic individuals spread halfway across the globe… a group I’m so very proud to call my friends. So as Christmas approaches, I just wanted once again to say to you, thanks. We are not alone.

Friends Toasting

If you are reading this. . . rest assured, it was meant for you. Please, have a very safe and Merry Christmas!

Merry Merry Christmas! Bless you and your family during the holiday and in the New Year.

    All the Best, Kelley

    1. Thank you so much, Kelley. It’s funny how people, some of whom I’ve never even met in person, can make a difference in our lives. You and yours have a very merry Christmas!

        So true!

        1. Hope your Christmas was Merry, Kelly! Our 2 year old had a wonderful Christmas, and thus so did daddy. 🙂

  1. Merry Christmas from our family of crazies to yours.

Well, I’m not saying your family is crazy. Just that ours is. Yours may be, but I’m not…oh, you know what I meant 🙂

    1. Hey, G. No… it’s okay… we are all a little crazy in our own way. I appreciate so much they way you and your hubby have shared your world with us. You’ve given me many a laugh. Sometimes it’s nice to know we are not alone in our craziness. 😉

  2. I for one can say that my life has been abundantly blessed by the friendship that both you and Shannon have shown over the years and I am grateful to count you among those I call dear friends! Merry Christmas with warm hugs from our house to yours! ~Mitzi & Diron

    1. Thank you, Mitzi. I know you’ve been reading my blogs and vice versa for going on, what, 5 or 6 years? And you know along with a bunch of other sweet friends around the world, this was meant for you. You and Diron have a very Merrry Christmas and a wonderful new year!

  3. You are so right about friendship. If we can expand our borders and celebrate others, our family grows and we become richer than we could have imagined! Blessings!

    1. You put that really well, Erin. Thank you! I wish you and your lovely family a very safe and Merry Christmas!

  4. Merry Christmas to all three of you! Happy to be the newbie here. 🙂

    1. I’m proud to count you among my new friends. Thank you so much. A very Merry Christmas to you, too!

    1. Hello, Kristen. I just came from your website. Thank you so much for the Christmas greetings from Germany. Have a lovely day!

  6. Merry Christmas to you as well.

By the way, for a guy, you sure have smooth feet

    1. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you. As for the smoothness of my feet… can you say PhotoShop? 😉

  7. Merry Christmas to you too!

    1. Thank you, Daria. I hope you all had a great Christmas, too. Oh, and thanks for posting the blog on “The Choking Game”. I’d never heard of it.

I’m not sure you know my name, but it does seem obvious this post is about me.

So I’d just like to say – you’re welcome.

Clearly I have made a very large difference in your life this year.

    I’m pretty important like that.

    So you’re welcome.

    1. Dear Megan. It is about you… it’s always been about you. Oh, and if those little voices in your head tell you to transfer heaps and heaps of cash to my PayPal account… remember… it’s still all about you.

  8. Wow. We’ve only just met and you’ve already dedicated a post to me. Thank you, kind sir. Thank you.

    1. Hey, we daddy pop bloggers have gotta stick together. It’s up to us to balance out that scary estrogen fueled world of mommy bloggers. 😉 Oh, and your baby’s feet are almost as cute as mine.

  9. I found your blog from a blog I was reading from Mom Blogger’s Club. I’m looking forward to reading your blog! I’ve read lots of mommy blogs so it will be nice to read something from a dad’s perspective. Love your button-it’s cute!

    1. Thank you so much, Kristi. I just came from your blog. Your Christmas sounded so lovely. We had a quiet Christmas morning at home just the three of us. My 2 year old was pretty excited as she understood it better this year. A few minutes ago she turned to me and said, “Jesus Birthday Gone.” I told her it’d be back in a year. 🙂

  10. Hallo an euch alle , ich gerade gelesen dieses Hark hier und apreciate genießen Sie geben gute Informationen mit großes Wissen!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen, ~A Daddy Blog

  11. Thank you so much for such an amazing post. I know I am reading it a little late but….
I am glad to have found you through the wonderful world of blogging and I am sorry I have been slacking lately. Just been trying to stay off the computer so much.
I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that this New Year will be blessed and your best one yet!!

    1. Thank you, Nicole! You’re not slacking… you are spending time with your family during the holidays the way you should. I’m very blessed to have met you and so many good friends via blogging. Have a lovely day!

      1. Glad you understand. Hope you had a lovely day too!

        1. Hi Lisa, Here is one more As I Live and Breathe LOL! You will be missed by QVC and all of it’s veiewrs, who tuned in to see your informative, honest (and fun) presentations on air. You are a Class Act Ms. Mason! May God continue to Bless You and Gino AND Good Luck with the book and all of your future endeavors. [BTW…my vote for the book signing is West Chester, PA…after all, you did spend alot of time in the area ]

  12. I’m glad you pointed me this way. This is also how I feel about my tweeting, blogging friends.
And I count you as one.

    Thanks Renee (2old2tap)

    1. Thank you so much, Renee. I feel the same way. Sending you big holiday *hugs*!

      1. Have fun with that! LazyGal always gives me a makerr to aim for. There’s a woman I see at family gatherings who brags when she reads 100 books a year. I always bite my tongue. She can’t know I read half again as many in a slower year. But then, LazyGal and I are abnormal. At 38 books in 3 months, you’re wonderfully abnormal, too.

  13. Yeah, it can be a bit sad for some of us this time of year… but hey, we all have each other! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Beth. You all, even those I’ve not met in person yet, mean so much to me. Clearly we must pay more attention to the people IRL around us, but there is something extra our “online family” can add? Sending *hugs* from Texas!
