iPhone Weather Forecast: Cloudy With a Chance of Apocalypse

Is the Mayan Calendar right? Is the world really ending Friday, December 21, 2012? Here’s what the weather app on my iPhone said just now:

iPhone Weather: Cloudy With a Chance of Apocalypse

NASA has just confirmed that on the evening of 12-21-2012 (this Friday) the sky will go black. They say it’s an astrological phenomenon also known as “night”.

I’m just kidding, of course. No asteroids or aliens nor even Jesus is coming on Friday*. If I’m wrong, won’t I be surprised? You’ll get the last laugh on Saturday. 😉

How are you celebrating the end of the world as we know it?

*This post is simply meant to bring a smile. If it also generates some conversation, that is good, too. There may be someone (you?) who is a little worried about Friday. That’s understandable. More than ever we are all feeling the fear and uncertainty in our lives, but if your fear is starting to turn into depression, please talk to a someone—a counselor, a clergy member or a trusted friend. Bad things do happen as we have been so painfully reminded of late, but the odds that this Friday will be any different than all the Fridays that came before it, are so small as to not warrant a second thought. I’m not a bible scholar, but as I recall Jesus said, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven… but only the Father.” So relax, take a deep breath, count your blessings and go hug your kids.

  1. The Epic Fail of Mayan Perdition went to trolling. It become viral on Facebook and Twitter.

    1. I suppose they’ve left us several things? Some cool ruins and another stupid meme!
